About Elizabeth
Elizabeth started doing wedding makeup and hair in 2011 and soon left her full time job at CN to pursue her passion for the beauty industry. Working closely with the fashion and wedding industry, Elizabeth soon began to offer something unique, a makeup artistry informed by the camera. She learned how makeup and hairstyling translated from real life, to the camera, creating a beauty style designed for photography. It was beautiful and approachable in person, ensuring they client felt like “themselves” and flawless on camera.
After 8 years of pursuing wedding and fashion makeup and hairstyling, travelling all over the world for her work including Iceland, Italy, Hong Kong, Bali, Mexico, the U.S. and all over Canada, it was time to do something different. Elizabeth loved how photography captured a client, their makeup, their personality, their style, and wanted to learn how to do it herself. In 2018 she bought her first camera and began taking classes and doing her own photoshoots in her home studio. By 2019 she had purchased a larger studio with space for hair and makeup, as well as headshots, lifestyle photos, and a stunning deck perfect for outdoor photos all year long. She had begun doing photography and video work for almost a third of her clients. With the combination of services she could offer a client a seamless package that made it far more flexible for the client (only booking one person) but also having the option for touch ups and a second look without the big price-tag of a makeup artist on set all day.
During the pandemic things changed as more people began using social media to reach clients and build relationships and trust, without the opportunity to meet in person. It’s great to have curated content from stock images, but that often doesn’t communicate the brand effectively as people have become very educated consumers and want a more personal touch. Professional clients started coming in looking for more photos to use for their websites, instagram, and LinkedIn. Elizabeths passion for both beauty and photography now had a growing clientele base and it was flexible for the clients needs and began to grown.
It’s now 2022 and Elizabeth offerings full service bookings to clients, having moved away from individual beauty appointments to photography or film bookings combined with beauty services. She works out of her stunning studio with a 16’ ceiling and a beautiful acreage allowing for indoor and outdoor photos and a very flexible set up. Her focus is both travel and the wedding industry, with a wedding in the south of France in 2022, as well as content creation for her small business clients. Elizabeth’s flexibility includes being able to build websites, coach clients on social media, and help curate content. Her passion for small business owners, Edmonton, and the wedding industry allow her to bring value to her clients in a unique way in her industry.
